Death Benefit
The Southern California District Council of Laborers’ provides a death benefit for the Retiree’s family for being a member of the union. Individuals must remain members of the Local union in order to qualify for the benefit. Individuals looking to retire are encouraged to maintain their membership in order to protect the death benefit. Retirees who discontinue paying their dues will lose this benefit once they are reported suspended to the International.
